BGK is an investor in infrastructure funds, fund of funds and venture capital funds. In the area of capital investments, BGK’s goal is to strengthen its position as a regional leader in capital investments. In addition, the objectives of BGK include implementing strategic projects from Poland’s perspective and filling market gaps as part of countercyclical activities.

Relation to VC/PE industry

BGK is the owner of the management entity of the alternative investment company called Vinci Inc., which manages the bank’s funds through three alternatives investment companies with diversified activities from early-stage investments (Vinci IQ ASI) through the growth stage ( Vinci Hitech ASI) to international expansion (Vinci Da Gama ASI).
BGK, along with EIF and other development banks, is an investor in Three Seas Innovation Fund. The Innovation Fund, which is managed by the EIF fund of funds, is the successor to the existing Central Europe Fund of Funds. The fund is launching investment activities, aiming to fill the regional market and investment gap in VC and early-stage PE, promote technological advancement and attract foreign managers and institutional investors to invest in the CEE region.

Areas of particular interest

Due to Poland’s significant needs in terms of increasing innovation and productivity, the bank plans to expand its activities in financing the most promising technology companies by 2030. BGK’s activities in this area involve investments in market venture capital and private equity funds in order to fill the gap in this market and increase the level of capital investments in Poland by stimulating the development of the local ecosystem.
