V4C portfolio company Kom-Eko S.A. makes add-on acquisition

Value4Capital, the lower mid-market Polish and central European buy-out manager, announced the acquisition by its portfolio company Kom-Eko S.A (www.kom-eko.pl) of a majority of shares in Lubelska Agencja Ochrony Srodowiska, a Swidnik, Poland based waste management firm.
Through their holding company, Kom-Eko shareholders subscribed new capital to partially fund the acquisition and position the company for further growth and development as it looks to expand both through acquisitions and organic development projects.

Kom-Eko and its management team has been able to successfully navigate the operational challenges the crisis put in front of it and at the same time secure this add-on, which will serve to further strengthen the company’s position in its home region and diversify the waste streams it is processing. Since our investment in late 2018, the management team has been developing a number of projects and opportunities. The capital increase shows the commitment of V4C and its co-investors to financing those opportunities and ensuring Kom-Eko remains a market leader.”
EIB Group’s co-investment, as well as the investment in the V4C Poland Plus Fund by its sister institution, the European Investment Fund, benefits from financial backing from the European Union under the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI), further to an agreement on the management of the EFSI and on the EU guarantee to be provided by the European Union entered into on 22 July 2015 by the EIB and the European Union.
Alpha Associates is a Swiss asset manager with EUR 6b of AUM active in private equity, infrastructure and private debt. Alpha Associates is supporting the Kom-Eko capital increase from its fourth eastern European fund, Alpha CEE Opportunity IV.
